The
ICU – Intensive Care Unit – of Hospital
Samaritano do Rio de Janeiro has 10 beds with a modern and ergonomic
design, to facilitate the work of physicians and nurses, and provide further
comfort to patients and their relatives.
The ICU of Hospital Samaritano was the first one of
the country to set up a vertical rule, that is, breathers, infusion pumps,
oxygen level, artery pressure and heart beat monitors are connected to
the metallic structure in the upper side of the beds. There is no wire
on the ground. Each ICU’s box has an independent X-Ray panel. Individual
sinks were created to further reduce the infection risk.
The central nursery station is strategically located at the unit’s
center, allowing viewing all beds, in case of an emergency.
The extension of the treatment of the critical patient may be accomplished
at the Intermediary Unit of Hospital
Samaritano do Rio de Janeiro.
